The Big Sandy Christmas Stroll will be here on December 2. "Christmas Candy Land" is the theme of the event. It's a lot of work to put on this event, and it's more fun if the community members get involved where they can.
There are five winning Stroll button designs. They are incredibly good. Winning artists are: Tori Dixon, Korbyn Jurenka, Astrid Ketchum, Alleyah Eagleman, and Heather Frank. All of the art created by the students of Big Sandy High School will be on display at the community center on December 2. The buttons are on sale at the Grocery Store, First Bank, Agi-Prairie Insurance, Hair I Am, Big Sandy Pharmacy, The Senior Center, and the Big Sandy Library. The prizes you can win with your winning button are displayed at First Bank. There are $4,800 worth of prizes for the adults and $3,100 worth of prizes for the children. The money raised by the button sale will allow them to purchase prizes next year.
Also, at First Bank, there are ten small wooden cabins for local crafters to decorate. At the December 2nd celebration, the cabins will be auctioned off. Go to the bank and pick one up!
Santa will be coming to Big Sandy again. He just let the Senior Center know he will be there on December 2 to have breakfast with the children of Big Sandy.
The craft show will take place at the town's community hall from 8:00-3:00. I don't know how many tables they have still open, but usually, the area is packed. Contact
The Library will show Christmas movies and have a craft with a raffle from 10:00-2:00.
Go to the Elevating Grains Bakery from 10-12 to make an ornament and sip hot cocoa.
There will be a parade of lights, so be ready to build a float and win a cash prize. The theme is Christmas Memories.
Adults can go to all three bars: Peps, The Mint, and the Club to taste a holiday cocktail. You'll be able to vote for your favorite drink for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the bar with the best cocktail.
