The Big Sandy Library received a grant for $2,650 from Ag West Farm Credit Services. Darlene Cline, Big Sandy Librarian, requested the funds through the Rural Grants program. Big Sandy was selected to receive the funds from Spokane, Washington's headquarters. Darlene Cline filled out all the paperwork, Renae Ostle wrote a letter of recommendation, and then it went through the company's scrutiny. Darlene requested funds for sewing machines, laptops, and a learning computer. Darlene said, "I'm happy. I've been trying to get sewing machines for quite a while, and then we'll be able to do kid and adult projects with sewing. Janelle Barber, from the Chouteau County Extension, came down. She helps out with sewing projects. We have one scheduled for December 15 at 11 o'clock, but we won't have the sewing machines by then. Normally, we have about 20 people come. The youngest was three years old, and the oldest that is coming is 80 years old. It's so awesome."
