"t'was the night before Christmas Break" stories by the 6th grade

“Twas the day before break, when all through the halls,

All the students were anxiously climbing the walls;

The lockers were open- kids combing their hair,

In hopes that some snowflakes would soon fill the air;

Kids were excited to sleep late in their beds,

While visions of free days danced in their heads:

With people in the office and I in my class,

We just settled down and let our brains rest at last,

When outside the room there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

It was a wild Davy let loose in the school!

And he had jumped in the school wide swimming pool.

It was disrupting classes and he was the cause.

So we called that famous Santa Claus.

He came in a hurry, as quick as the Flash.

But to our disappointment he couldn’t quite make a splash.

But before he left he gave us some clues on how to get rid of that awful ruse.

He said to work together, navigate, and altogether cooperate, but most of all we need to find the treasure near this fiend holds dear.

We figured it out!

It’s obvious you see all he wants is a bowl of peas.

So we found some of those and he followed his nose right out of the doors

to find what we left him to adore.

The bell has just rang and with scrambling in the hall we all must recall this joyous Christmas break and the memories we made.”

In hopes that some snowflakes would soon fill the air;

Kids were excited to sleep late in their beds,

While visions of carefree days danced in their heads:

With people in the office and I in my class,

We just settled down and let our brains rest at last,

When outside the room there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

I saw in the distance a little elf and he came running from

Afar he said “ We broke down in the mountains”

“And We need your help “ As i look at the elf

Confused, I said “its aint even christmas.”

The elf said “ oh , well then “.

Then he disappeared into the wild

When outside the room there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

I went and saw a very large cardboard box with such a flare.

And then I watched it leap toward the stairs.

I quickly got in as it raced like a hare.

I saw other people who in fact were all kids.

They said “ Why don’t you join us in our bid.”

Then out of nowhere there was a spire.

We started to climb it but then there was a fire.

I really kind of wanted to run

But the kid below asked me if I wanted a hamburger bun.

I did not want one and the kid was gulfed up in flames

and I said “too bad that was a shame.”

I rescued the kids from the spire

And I said “ that kid who got gulfed in the flames is a liar,he never was in flames.”

“He’s right here all this time, all plain and same.

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

There was a bear running into a chair

saying I don’t care then a hare ate the bear

and jumped on the rare monster that ate the snare bear and hare.

Twas the day before break, for everyone’s sake, the Big Bean Brydin was happily late. For if he was here we’d all frown in fear. When he walks the halls, everyone quietly stalls. If he walks by after lunch you better pray, or that day you will certainly feel gray. We thought we were saved until the bell rang. When we heard the big clomp, we all stopped in shock. We knew he was here, there was nothing we could do. But sit and wait until we suffocate. Suffocate in the smoke, that we all knew the most. The smoke that awaited was not a good taste. For it makes one and many more faint. We air out the halls, and soon see Santa Clausy. We assumed it was Big Brydin, but it was not. “Phew!” we thought. We wondered why he was here, as we all stared in fear. He said with a big voice “HO, HO, HO.” As the kids all shouted, “NO, NO, NO” They knew they’d been bad this year. So each and every one of them shed a tear. A single tear can spread through the year and change the Christmas cheer. One kid said, “please Santa please, my only wish this year is for him to be here.” For who was that person? Was it their uncle, was it their brother? No, it was their father, that they did not want to bother. So Santa rethought, and decided to let the child go, but now everyone else wanted to know. One shouted out, “Please, oh, please, Santa Clause, I don’t have any socks!” Another shouted, “And I have chicken pocks!” This went on and on until Santa yelled, “STOP!” As everyone looked at the clock they noticed fifty minutes had passed. Santa then asked, please kids, enjoy what you have or you might be harassed. So, this year’s lesson, the finest of all, is enjoy what you have or you shall go bald.

There were elves and Santa and baseball batters.

I was trying to get to him but everyone was scattered.

So I weaved my way through and asked him a question.

He opened his mouth and said “I’m sorry but I need to get away from this tension.”

So he hopped on his sleigh and flew away.

I jumped up into the air and hoped that I would reach heaven.

I missed the sleigh and hit the ground.

I had a chunk cut out of me that weighed almost a pound.

It’s fine though because I was found.

Then I went to the hospital and had to get an ultrasound.

SANTA we said!

So he said hi and said come,

come sit on my lap.

Then we found out this was a fake santa.

He was an old man in dust skis.

As everyone ran like stupid rats I went up to him and said…

It was my dad in my hat. He’s holding a dog.

”At last” I say I’m going home.

All of a second he’s gone.

As I go home with dad I see a dog.

“Nom Nom” I exclaimed as my dog ran.

We don’t know exactly where Nom Nom came from

the thing is that he keeps popping up,

and in a second he’s gone.

So I went up to him and said hi, the monster said bye.

I was sad and the monster was being bad.

Turns out the monster was from Monsters Inc.

He came through the closet with a hat and a bat.

Waiting for His baseball Christmas, and his cat that likes snacks.

Then I grideyd Into the sunset. The monster said bet.
