Duane A. Cooke passed away peacefully January 10th at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls after a very brief illness. He was born in Havre, February 21, 1944 to Dudley and Clara (Ulman) Cooke. He graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1962. Duane then spent all of his life in the family farm except for a few years working in Seattle.
Duane enjoyed collecting all kinds of old cars, trucks, and tractors. He raised Arabian horses and various breeds of cattle. Organic farming became his passion until retiring. Duane also had a successful, "Have Backhoe will travel" business for many years.
He leaves behind his wife Lela, daughter Corrie (Travis) as well as three very much-loved grandchildren, Emily, Colton, and Kase and his sister Carol.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim.
A gathering to honor Duane and his brother Jim, who very recently passed away will be planned for later.
Donations in memory of Duane may be sent to Big Sandy Medical Center or donors choice.
