About a month ago, two people were gunned down in a double murder in Box Elder allegedly related to drug trafficking activity in the area. This horrific event leaves many of us feeling less safe. Though we may want to live and raise our families in safe and healthy communities, this does not happen by accident or without effort. Healthy and safe communities are created by people who choose to live in healthy and safe ways. One critical and indispensable part of our overall safety and health is divine intervention to safeguard and bless us.
Therefore, a prayer pilgrimage is planned from Big Sandy to Box Elder on Saturday, May 18th in order to intercede in prayer for our communities and seek God's saving help. Pilgrimages for prayer are an ancient, time-honored and very faithful practice by Christians. Here are the particulars:
What? A prayer walk, carrying a cross from Big Sandy to Box Elder. When? Saturday, May 18th. We will first gather at the Rest Area in Big Sandy at 9:00 AM and should arrive in Box Elder a few hours later. Other details: We are reaching out to the Montana Highway Patrol to accompany us so that we are safe as we walk along Highway 87. We will have another vehicle accompanying us to provide water, energizing snacks, and a ride for the weary. For questions or more information, please call Rich Jespersen at (406) 680-7080.
