Tim Sheehy stops in Big Sandy

A June 14th political meet and greet with Tim Sheehy, candidate for U.S. Senator, was at Big Sandy's The Mint. It was a good turnout, but The Mint was not full. He went around the room completely, shaking everyone's hands before he spoke for about 20 minutes. Tim answered a few questions before he left for Fort Benton.

I asked him for a quick statement, and he said, "You bet! America is at a crossroads between open border inflation, interest rates, and foreign policy disasters. We have to make some changes very soon. If we're going to hand a secure, safe, prosperous nation to our children. Those choices are hard choices." Sheehy just met Jon Tester for the first time at the debate the other day, "he is a great guy, but we clearly disagree on the direction of the country. I fought for this country. My wife fought for this country, and I'm worried about our future; that's why I'm running."

Mark is running against Jon Tester, who became a Senator in 2007.

He was charismatic and had a lot of enthusiasm, but his speech just expanded on the above statement.

As most of you know, Mark Sheehy and his wife moved to Montana in 2014. He was originally from Minnesota. He met his wife while serving our country in the Marines. Bridger Aerospace was the company they founded in 2014. It helps fight fire using technology they first used while in the Marines. He first thought of getting involved in politics during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. We lost 13 American troops plus hundreds of Afghan civilians. He told the Montana Free Press, "It was heart-wrenching. I fought in our nation's longest war. I worked to save our allies. I understand duty, service, and sacrifice. That day showed me something was seriously wrong in D.C. and motivated me to run for U.S. Senate."

In 2019, Mark and Carmen Sheehy bought land in the Little Belts. They have been landowners for 5 years. Mark and Carmen have four children, two girls and two boys. They currently homeschool their children.
