Fall Sports Gearing Up

Mark your calendars for August 13th. The annual parent-player meeting for all BSHS fall sports teams will be held at 7 p.m. in the BSHS auditorium. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet our football and volleyball coaches. Important information regarding the season and school policies is disseminated at this meeting. Please plan to attend if you are a parent of a 5th-12th grade boy planning to play football or a 6th-12th grade girl planning to play volleyball. As a reminder, all athletes must have a current sports physical before their first day of practice. Varsity practices begin on August 16th.

Our football team has a new head coach this year. Coach Jappe has left us for greener pastures, but a familiar face will be at the helm as head coach. Tucker Taylor has served as our assistant coach for the last six year and will assume head coaching duties. He will be assisted by Ryne LaBuda. The Pioneer football team has gaps to fill as they lost several talented seniors from last year, including Lane Demontiney, Cooper Taylor, Sam Cox, Jake Darlington and Christian Winderl. However, this is a young and scrappy squad who will be looking to build upon the successes of the last several years. The Pioneers season opener will be in Bridger on August 31st at 3 p.m.

Our volleyball team tied with CJI as conference champions last year and are looking to be even more successful this season. The Pioneers lost the very versatile Lainey Terry to graduation, but there are several talented younger players looking to fill her shoes. Brittany (McKenney) Richard leads our talented Pioneers squad for another as head volleyball coach. She is assisted by Morgan Simpson. New to the staff this year are junior high coach Mikki Pansch and volunteer coach Sara Sura. The Lady Pioneers take to the court versus North Star on August 30th in Rudyard.
