Senior Center makes changes

At its regular annual meeting, the Big Sandy Senior Center voted to raise its meals to $7.00. This was necessary to cover the cost of food and supplies, which kept going up. They could also use donations of any kind because donations are a key factor for keeping the center running.

While monetary donations are greatly appreciated, there are other diverse ways to contribute. The following items were mentioned: Eggs, vegetables, powdered lemonade, coffee, tea, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, computer paper, file folders, file hangers, pens, bleach cleaning supplies, Ziploc bags of all sizes, tin foil, and canned goods.

Your unique contribution can make a difference.

The Big Sandy Senior Center deeply values the positive comments and patronage it has received from the community. Your continued support is vital. You can call 406-378-2405 by 10:00 to order a meal. The Center is located downtown in the second block, at 166 Johnannas Ave. If leaving the house is difficult for you, we are more than happy to deliver the meal to you. Your well-being is our priority.

Mail your donations to Big Sandy Senior Center, PO Box 263 Big Sandy Montana, 59520

This is also a reminder that it is now possible for the Senior Center to host Easter Seals. If you meet the qualifications of Easter Seals, you could start working as soon as the interview process is over. Easter Seals pays you minimum wage and allows up to 25 hours per week. You must be 55 or older, have a fixed income at the poverty level or on SSI/SSDI, be unemployed, and have job training hours available. The center can use help in the kitchen and front desk and assist with other activities. A janitor and other helping areas are needed as well. Contact Robin Johnsons between 8 am and 2 pm at the center.
