New things happened at the Fair

New at the Chouteau County 4-H and FFA Fair this year was the Creative Trades Live Auction held on Sunday, August 18. Thirteen 4-H and FFA members submitted their handmade items they made through their projects completed over the past year. To sell, the items needed to receive a blue ribbon during their interview and judging of their exhibits.

Twenty-three items were sold. Thank you to the generous buyers whose final bids raised a total of $1957.00. Each 4-H and FFA member will receive the full amount of the bid received for their item.

The items sold included sewing items—apron, doll sleeping bag, 4-H pennant, travel tote, teddy bear, oven mitts, baby blanket, hot drink cup protector, potholder and floral tablecloth. Other items included 2 sets of leather horseshoe coasters, decorated chocolate cake, geometric wood art, 2 flower garden stakes from welded horseshoes, basket of fresh garden veggies, wooden shoe shelf, butterfly garden stake from welded horseshoes, printed landscape photo on canvas, leather water bottle holder for saddle, 406 wood décor piece and tanned badger hide.

Congratulations to the 4-H and FFA members for completing their projects and participating in the first Creative Trades Live Auction. We look forward to what you create for next year and invite more 4-H and FFA members to participate.

The Creative Trades Live Auction would not have been possible without help from Colleen Pegar and Carol Tadej who clerked, the multiple pairs of eyes calling the bids and Alix Reid and Brooke Cunningham who were key in helping make the idea happen. We appreciate you!
