The Lady Pioneer Varsity team played in Box Elder this past week. The ladies won in 3 sets with scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-3. In the 2nd set, the Lady Bears tried to stay close to the Lady Pioneers, staying within 2 points until the Lady Pioneers pulled away by outscoring the Lady Bears 8-1 on a great run. The Lady Pioneers continue to work at improving, and it's enjoyable to watch them play as a team and fine-tune their skills.
The team and individual stats are as follows:
10 team digs, with Jenny San having 3
20 team assists, with Jai Baumann having 14
27 team kills, with Keira Galbavy having 10
20 team aces, with Jenny Sant having 7
When I asked Coach Brittany her thoughts about the games (including JV games), she said, "I was really proud of our JV for winning in 5 against Highwood. There were some great volleys, and they received a lot of positive feedback from the crowd. I really appreciated our student section for bringing so much energy and excitement to the gym." Both our JV and Varsity brought home the "W" against Box Elder. We are continuing to improve, and I am very excited for next week. We will be heading to Chester on Thursday, which will surely be a fun match!"
The next volleyball games are on Thursday at Chester and Friday at home; the games start at 5 p.m.
