Dale was born on March 3, 1950, in Glasgow, to Henry and Florence (Paus) Morey. He was raised in Opheim, graduating from Opheim High School in 1969. For a few months, Dale worked as a custom cutter for the Lawrence family, and then entered the US Navy. He returned briefly during his initial term of enlistment to marry Micki Rhodes in 1973. They were blessed with a 51-year marriage with 3 children. They spent their first year of marriage overseas in Sicily. He was discharged to the Naval Reserves in 1974 after returning to go to school and work back in Montana. Once home, Dale worked as a custom cutter for Thackery family, and then obtained a position with Big Bud, during which employment he painted the first Big Bud 747, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. Dale attended Northern Montana College, receiving an associate degree in autobody. Dale moved his family back to Opheim to help his parents. After several years he transferred to the Army National Guard, retiring in 2006 in Culbertson, MT. After retirement Dale worked in Williston, ND, for JC Penny. They moved once more, this time to Big Sandy, to be near one of their daughters and some of their grandchildren.

Dale was a kind, social man who loved to play pranks and joke with his family and friends. He had many different jobs and excelled at each task or job he worked. He was a man of few words, and he enjoyed the outdoors, whether hiking, hunting, fishing, gardening, or just walking around. He was a handy man who like to tinker and built treehouses for his girls. Riding his Harley provided him much joy, but his wife, daughters and grandchildren were his whole life. He loved to watch his grandchildren in their activities, especially sports, and was their biggest supporter. Dale also enjoyed the various mens' Bible studies and church services around town. You would always find him Sunday night watching football. He was a dedicated Green Bay Packer fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence Morey, and brothers, Royal, Jim, and Mike Morey.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Micki Morey of Big Sandy; daughters, Keri (Shane) Cox of Big Sandy, Mindy (Robert) Gollehon of Helena, and Dalynn (Bryon) West of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Samuel Cox, Jack Gollehon, Wesley Cox, Autumn Gollehon, and Tristan Cox; and grand-furbabies, Bubba and Daffy West. The Capdeville family have been a big part of Dales life since childhood. Elsie and Spud, along with their 5 children, have been a loving second family.
