Our Community Comes Together for Another Successful Blood Drive

As the proud sponsor of our local Red Cross blood drive, I’m thrilled to report on the tremendous success of our recent event held at Christ Lutheran Church. Once again, our community has shown its generosity and commitment to saving lives.

It’s always inspiring to see both familiar faces and newcomers at our drives. This time, we celebrated several milestone achievements:

• My heartfelt congratulations go out to Crystal Geyer and Wendy Taylor, who each reached the impressive 2-gallon mark in their donation journey.

• A round of applause for Ryne LaBuda and Brittany Sherburn, who achieved their 1-gallon milestone.

• And a special mention to Rickie Scheetz, whose dedication has led him to donate his 3rd gallon!

These milestones represent years of commitment to our cause, and I’m deeply grateful for their continued support.

I’m also excited to share that we welcomed a first-time donor to our drive. To our newcomer: thank you for taking this important step. Your contribution is invaluable, and I hope to see you at future drives.

Every time we host these drives, I’m reminded of the incredible impact we make together. The Red Cross tells us that every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood, and a single donation can save up to three lives. That means that together, we’ve potentially saved dozens of lives in just one day.

I want to extend a special thank you to the Church of God for their generous contribution to our drive. They provided all the food for our donors and volunteers, ensuring everyone stayed energized and comfortable throughout the day. This kind of community support is what makes our blood drives so successful and welcoming for all participants.

For those who couldn’t make it this time, or if you’re feeling inspired to donate, I’m happy to announce our next blood drive is scheduled for December 11th, 2024. We’ll be back at Christ Lutheran Church, and I hope to see many of you there.

Remember, whether you’re a seasoned donor or considering your first donation, every contribution counts. The Red Cross recommends that healthy individuals donate blood every 56 days for whole blood donations.

As your neighbor and the sponsor of these drives, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone involved. To the staff at Christ Lutheran Church for providing the venue, to the Church of God for keeping us well-fed, to the Red Cross team for their expertise and care, and most importantly, to each and every donor who took the time to give the gift of life – thank you.

Your generosity never fails to move me, and it’s what makes our community so special. Together, we’re making a real difference in people’s lives.
