Donald Alan Jenkins

Donald Alan Jenkins, "Curly", 63, passed away on October 6th, 2024, in Billings, Montana. Don was born in Havre, Montana on June 15, 1961, to Loren and Eldonna (Fox) Jenkins. He grew up on the family farm west of Big Sandy and attended elementary, middle, and high school in Big Sandy, graduating in 1979. Don was an accomplished wrestler and football player, and he always enjoyed his time with friends and family. After graduating, Don enjoyed his time custom cutting in Kansas for the Tyler crew. After custom cutting, Don returned to the family farm, where he spent most of his life trying to raise the best crops he could. In October 1990, Don met the love of his life, Misty Dahl, in Great Falls. That is when they both learned that they believed in love at first sight. In May 1992, Don and Misty became husband and wife. From their marriage, they were blessed with two beautiful children, MacKenzie and Cooper. His biggest treasure was his family. He was very proud of his wife and kids and everything that they accomplished in their lives. He often spoke of their accomplishments to his family and friends with such pride. Don was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did. He spent many years farming on the family farm in Big Sandy, and after moving to Billings in 2015, he maintained a salesman position for Coca-Cola, worked at Raw Machinery, and drove semi for 10 Roads Express. Together, Don and Misty spent 25 years traveling the state of Montana with their 4 Lazy J Kettlecorn business. Don and Misty cherished the friendships that they formed through their kettlecorn business, and they loved traveling the state together with their kids. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing, playing fastpitch, coaching or reffing wrestling and football, and cheering for the Montana Grizzlies and Denver Broncos. He was an avid sports fan and spent many days watching sports on TV or in person. Don spent 13 years coaching football and 7 years as a football MOA. He also spent 20 years coaching wrestling and 1 year as a wrestling MOA. Don gained many friends through fastpitch, coaching, and reffing, and he always cherished those friendships. He cared deeply about the athletes that he coached, dedicating a lot of time to their personal and athletic development. Don enjoyed the many dogs he and Misty had, traveling to new places, going on drives to view the scenery, and playing with his grandson, Haze. Don never knew a stranger. He always had a smile on his face, was quick to give a wave or handshake, and would provide advice when he was asked. Don's friendly personality, loving and caring heart, and adventurous spirit will always be missed. Don leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Misty, and their two children, Cooper and MacKenzie (Karston), his grandson, Haze, his parents, Loren and Eldonna, brothers Ben (Lisa) and Alvin (Clare), 5 nieces and nephews, and many close family and friends. Don's Celebration of Life will be held in Big Sandy on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, at 4 pm, at the Jerry Martin Memorial Hall. Don would love to see all of his family and friends together in one place. Please bring your best stories and memories of Don to share. A day for the family is planned for Sunday, November 3rd, 2024. Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings is handling the cremation arrangements. Don will return home to the farm, a place that he loved and cherished the most. A memorial fund will be set up at First Bank of Montana in Big Sandy in Don's name.
