I am almost speechless about this Lady Pioneer volleyball team...I have watched a lot of sports in my life, and I genuinely believe these girls should've been featured on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 after their District performance! These girls are made of something special. And you know you can see it every time they are on the court. But because I also know that it's not just about how hard those girls work, I have also to say that they are the way they are because of coaching. Nowadays, so many kids in sports give up when the going gets tough, NOT your Lady Pioneers! NOT your Lady Pioneer coaches! These girls played 28 sets of volleyball in 3 days! They played seven matches in 3 days! They won their first match against Hays, then lost against CJI, but the next day (Saturday), they came back and played 16 sets (5 matches) in ONE DAY!!
I've said it all year long! These girls show you what hard work and grit are... they have HEART! And to play as hard as they did to come back, make it to the championship round, and have to play so many times in one day, I am surprised they didn't have to drag those girls off the court. They are so much fun to watch, and if you haven't yet, you are missing out, and you need to watch them at Divisionals this week.
This week, I am not adding the individual stats with the team stats because there were so many sets they played. But these girls did SO GOOD! And the town of Big Sandy is proud of you, ladies! Keep it up, and go get them at Divisionals!

Coach Brittany said this about her team at Districts: "Wow! There are no real words to express what I witnessed this week. This team's grit, determination, guts, belief, and HEART were incredible to watch. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it before. We played in 28 sets over the course of 3 days. 16 of those sets were played in ONE DAY! We scored a total of 633 points, with 355 of those points being on the final day of competition. We had a team total of 611 Digs, 261 Assists, 315 Kills, 38 Blocks, and 61 Aces. Impressive! I could not be more proud of this team and what they accomplished. Several records were broken, and I can honestly say it took every single player to do what we did. History was made, and being a PIONEER is a GREAT day! We are finally bringing home some new volleyball hardware! Please come support these ladies at Divisionals in Fort Benton. We will play 30 minutes after the 1:00 pm match is over against Cascade on Thursday (Roughly 3:00 pm)."
