Sunshine Snippers 4-H Newsletter

In March the Sunshine Snippers 4-H Club met at Saint Margaret Mary's Catholic Church.

We started our meeting out with an archery report from Ella, Lucy and Parker. We also talked about our annual fundraiser. We are doing "Egg My Yard" for Easter. This year the Sunshine Snippers will be donating all the proceeds from the Egg My Yard fundraiser to the Big Sandy Pioneer Producers. You can order your pre-filled eggs to be hidden in your Big Sandy yard the night before Easter along with a special note from the Easter Bunny! There are three different egg options to choose from they are;

25 eggs for $25

50 eggs for $45

75 eggs for $60

If you would prefer to hide your own eggs, the club could fill the eggs and deliver them to your doorstep. Please reach out to Mary Ophus or Misty LeFurgey to reserve your spot by April 11th.

The cloverbud members did a St. Patrick's Day activity with Scott and Andy. The others learned CPR from Jessica Ophus. We learned the importance of CPR and what to do or not do. We had test mannequins to practice what we learned.

Eryn did her talk on different horse bits. We ended our meeting with a tower building group competition with spaghetti and marshmallows that Paxton, our game leader provided.

On March 16th, the club held a special meeting so the 4-H'ers could give talks and demonstrations. A 4-H talk is a presentation where a member shares information about a subject they have learned. A demonstration is when a member shows how to do something while telling how it's done. The talks and demonstration presented were:

Garrett talked about the basics of forging.

Abby talked about Red Foxes.

Lucy talked about cake decorating.

Ella talked about arrow parts and points.

Emmie Jo talked about infant choking and CPR.

Sawyer talked about gun actions and ammo parts.

Jordon talked about a pig set up.

Jayde talked about Jayde's chicken eggs.

Colton talked about parts of an engine.

Samuel talked about what to have in a survival kit.

Charlotte talked about parts of a sewing machine.

Cove talked about how to fix a small hole with a tire plug.

Chaz demonstrated how to change a light fixture.

Wren talked about different sheep breeds.

The next club meeting will be held April 13th, at 1:00 p.m.
